Aprilia Owner Rides, Trackdays, Meetings, and Events.Aprilia Owner's Pictures, Videos, and Sounds.Quick Navigation 2012-2024 Tuono V4 - All Variants Top I found the blipper and quick shifter worked smoother with the race map, and I think the stock map with PCV Autotune might not like unplugging the factory lambda sensors. I like the combination of race map and Dynojet PCV with 2 channel autotune after adjusting the individual cylinder maps. I do believe that the ignition timing could produce some smoother power (especially in the 3800rpm area with small throttle opening), however my initial toying with it affected engine braking and I wen back to the original timing. The ideal scenario would be to have lambda sensors or at least a temp sensor on each individual cylinder exhaust and dyno or data log the bike under load - tune each cylinder and repeat. From what I can see the fuel map has a fuel table for each individual cylinder, two ignition maps, and three throttle maps. It is way too rich at the low end and fuel to each individual cylinder is off by quite a bit - also there's a flat spot around 3800rpm if you take out the noise baffle. I will tell you that the race map is $hit. He said he has the info to do this that will come back with my flashed ecu so im just hoping it's a fairly simple task.Ĭan anyone explain this to me.I have installed the race map with the same exhaust SCR-1 and DNA filter on my 2020 Tuono. If one is showing 12.850 and the other 12.840 would that be enough to cause it to not operate ? Or is it just that these 2 voltages need to be closely matched. I'm wondering how difficult this is and how exact the 2 voltages have to match up. Whatever it was it 2 voltages that must match up for everything to work properly. I think he said something about the voltage going to some sensor has to match voltage with the pc3 or something. It's making me start to have second thoughts on the flash. So I found one and bought it.Īnyone that can help me understand this whole voltage thing I'm going to have to do when I get my ecu/pc3 back from Ivan? Have not sent it to him yet. The reason I bought the pc3 is because it says on his 04/06 R1 reflash page pc3 required. Where if I had bought a pc5 I would not have had to do this voltage stuff. I talked to Ivan today he seemed a bit busy so I didn't want to ask to many questions but did mention I had picked up a pc3 for the flash and he said a pc5 woulda been much better due to having to set or match up some voltage coming from some sensor wire that goes to the ecu using a sewing needle to poke into a wire to be able to check voltage for something being I have the pc3. It just works!!!Īnd lastly there is no other company that I know of that has developed an ECU flash for the sexiest R1's ever!!! This was plug and play, no issues or fault codes. So many things can go wrong when messing with electronics, etc. I can tell you that this was the least painless mod I have done. I plan on putting some more miles on it this coming month and will have more updates. I am very happy with the product and am excited to recommend this to any R1 Forum member. I also felt a bump in HP where it matters. With this flash you no longer need an ignition module, it has all the settings programmed and built in. I can clearly see that this was the case as soon as I started her up and went for a quick spin.įirst thing I have noticed is the race idle and how much smoother throttle response and shifting is. All testing was done in house over and over and over until it was perfect. The ECU flash was developed using my close friends R1 at his shop in house over the course of the last 6-12 months. I popped out my ole ECU and gave it to him and 30 mins later it was done and back in my bike. My ECU was flashed 2 weeks ago at his shop. He has been working on Yamaha's and R1's for longer than I can remember. If you remember correctly, back in 1998 when the R1's were introduced, Ivan pioneered his jet kit which was by far better than dynojet or any other jet kit available. Hi guys, I have been meaning to post a review on the forum regarding my ECU flash at Ivan's Performance in Rockland County, NY.
